Is this a Parrot or a Pidgeon? Maybe a Pargeon or a Pidgrot? Looks strange...

We can only dream up theories now that photos have surfaced of what appears to be a parrot-pigeon hybrid.

These half-pigeon, half-parrot-looking birds have been spotted in Long Island City*, and their mysterious origins are ruffling feathers.

"I have never seen birds with this marking and have not been able to find anything about them online," a tipster tells Gothamist.

Perhaps it really is just another love story for the ages. Mostly, we hope no pigeons were spray-painted in the process.

But if it turns out to be a true hybrid and not a myth: What should we call these winged additions to the animal kingdom?

They could use a few choice comments as nobody knows what to say about it at People Mag. Now NY Gothamist would've had hundreds of comments by now...

No explanation for the coloring but the feet sure aren't what I'd expect to see from a parrot-pigeon hybrid.

 Why would someone paint a pigeon? That is what it looks like, though.
