Is this a Parrot or a Pidgeon? Maybe a Pargeon or a Pidgrot? Looks strange...
We can only dream up theories now that photos have surfaced of what appears to be a parrot-pigeon hybrid.
These half-pigeon, half-parrot-looking birds have been spotted in Long Island City*, and their mysterious origins are ruffling feathers.
"I have never seen birds with this marking and have not been able to find anything about them online," a tipster tells Gothamist.
Perhaps it really is just another love story for the ages. Mostly, we hope no pigeons were spray-painted in the process.
But if it turns out to be a true hybrid and not a myth: What should we call these winged additions to the animal kingdom?
