Another ham radio equipment manufacturer bites the dust, filing for the equivalent of what would be a Chapter 7 bankruptcy (liquidation of assets) in the U.S. Too bad, they built some really nice stuff.

Seemed pretty well built. Too bad. Now MFJ should absorb their product line.

"Now MFJ should absorb their product line."

Considering what they did to Cushcraft and others they'll turn this one too into Mighty Fine Junk. MFJ used to manufacture some pretty good stuff, although some required minor solder touch up, but they took a nosedive so I don't have much confidence in them anymore.

They took a nosedive in 2005. Stop recycling old news. They've come back up.

This should give a clue why I don't know their current status. Also, perhaps you haven't noticed that without antennas I have no use for their, or any other radio products.

I don't have much confidence in them anymore.

That should settle it.

Too bad, they had great amplifiers. The problem was the price. They wanted Alpha Amplifier money for them.

"The problem was the price."

Well, you pay for quality. If you want quality, be patient and save your pennies. Eh, that takes too long, so dollars would mitigate your exasperation. (;->)

I don't know, the link seems to say that it is about December of 2013.

He was talking about MFJ.

Well, they were of Alpha quality, or better.

I caught that. And fixed it before you realized. :P Must have both been editing at the same time.

Yeah, quick as a bat you sometimes, like yesterday, jump in while I'm typing so I have to edit my post. (;->)

I had visions of a pair of their THL 2.5 HF amps and a pair of their high-powered auto-tuners gracing my shack desk...

Call HRO. They may be discounting their remaining stock, just to get it off the shelves.

I wonder if it would be possible to crowd-source enough cash to buy up the manufacturing rights to THP's ham radio gear.

Well, you won't find it here.
