This should be fun. Anyone else going to jump?

Nah.

"Moore told scientists that they could experience the phenomenon by jumping in the air at the precise moment the alignment occurred. If they do so, he promised, they would experience a strange floating sensation."

I don't have to jump, whenever I smoked weed I experienced a strange floating sensation. These days inhaling helium doesn't work so well but it makes me talk funny. (You'd think I was tanked while posting here.)

Stop huffing helium. It is a finite resource.

So, it isn't clear about what they mean by local time so that could mean 4:47AM on the east coast.
That's this Saturday. I'll have the video ready to go.
Could be a giant hoax but people should avoid driving during that time.

Seeing as how he is British, subtract 5 hours for Eastern timezone.

Just says local time but I wondered about that. Guess I'll be up early or late. Either way.

It's a crock. The combined gravitational effect on Earth of all the other planets in the Solar system is less than that of a Greyhound bus passing by fifteen feet away.

I've heard this since the current planetary alignments began in 1973. YET, there are scientists who claim (or theorize) that a rare alignment of Jupiter and Venus changed the tilt of the Earth 1o about 13,000 years ago and that this ended the ice age.

Why not? Dunno. But they can't have it both ways.

I'm no expert on the topic but, as far as I can tell, that opinion is far out of the scientific mainstream. It seem more popular with the fringe astrological types than real scientists.

But did you see the look on the guys face? Serious look is serious.

Oh stop trying to play astronomer and think. If you jump you'll feel a brief sensation of weightlessness. Just don't prolong it by jumping off a cliff, the sharp deceleration at the bottom is a killer.

Might as well jump.
