I just wanted to do a shout out to our good friend, Bob, NA4BH...once again showing that ham spirit.

I had mentioned not having a rig on another thread...the guy just up and sends me his IC-706MKIIG to use! As well as all the trimmings and a Hints and Kinks book to boot. I am going to Frys tomorrow to buy a new power supply, then commence to assembling the station and N7YA will be airborne again! :)

Let me tell you, as a DXer, its been killing me that i couldnt be on the air for all the openings, DX contests and operations that have come and gone. Plus, this rig has 6 meters, which i've never tried and really look forward to, as well as 2m and 440! I havent been on 2 in 30 years and will try some simplex stuff, and i have never been on 440. So good times lie ahead.

Thats all, i just wanted to let you know that gentlemen still exist in this hobby of stinky, angry old farts. We have some good folks here. :yes:

There was a time when things were going very bad for me.......Bob insisted I allow him to help my family...and he did in a big way... And when my mom lay on her death bed Bob sent flowers..... She loved them. Bob is somebody I'll never forget. Thanks Bob!

I have to pile on Bob as well. Allow me to pony up a comment. Last year, I went through two horrible incidents. Two more came later. Bob pm'ed me offering to inflate my PayPal account. My Buckeye-Redneck pride kicked in and I tabled the generous offer. I actually cried a bit knowing that someone who does not know me would offer me help. That was touching. I told him I would be ok if I can land this good job in Cleveland. I had a couple of issues that made that more difficult. He offered to allow me to chat with his YL, since she is a professional in HR. She reviewed my resume', and offered advise on how to deal with the issues. I conducted myself exactly as she advised in the three interviews. I snagged the job, thanks to her.

I raise my glass of iced coffee to you Bob. It is comforting knowing that there are good folks like you, and your family out there.

I got it yesterday. Postage due. I tried to guess what was in it. I shook it, banged on it, and tried everything to get a clue what it was, but no joy. I finally gave in to my curiosity, and tore it open. Thanks buddy. Where the fuck did you find 500 pissed off Minnesota yellow jackets? I won't be posting for awhile because I'm on an Atropine IV, and have to have hourly antihistamine enemas. I owe you, ya bastid.

Great...upstaged again. Well, Eddie, i might as well spoil your present. I only got you a few local dog turds. Thought you might like that taste of Nevada. I even threw in a defunct gaming chip from the local grocery store.
