A massive explosion of a 10-inch Chevron natural gas pipeline near a drilling rig in Milford, Texas, led the company to ask law enforcement to evacuate the entire town (http://bigstory.ap.org/article/pipeline-explodes-north-texas-no-injuries) on Thursday. Milford, in rural Ellis County, is about halfway between Dallas and Waco. The cause is still unknown, and the fire is expected to rage for another day.

At 9:30 a.m. CST, huge gouts of flame shot into the air at a what appeared to be a drilling rig, according (http://www.myfoxdfw.com/story/23969008/gas-pipeline-explodes-in-ellis-county) to local affiliate FOX 4. Black smoke was visible for at least 20 miles around. Some vehicles at the worksite appeared to be seriously damaged. No injuries have been reported so far.

Ellis County officials also asked people on FM 308 from Milford back toward Italy and Maypearl to leave because a second line was reportedly in danger of another explosion (http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/11/14/us-energy-pipeline-explosion-idUSBRE9AD0Y120131114). Chevron is expected to let the highly-pressurized gas leak out through the inferno until there is no more gas left in the pipeline segment.

800 People evacuated, the rest with piccie, follow the linky.

I see Texas has once again employed their 2 second urban clearance. I'm surprised they called the Gub'mint for help instead of Glenn Beck and his super tea friends. Don't they know that Gub'mint don't work? Hmmm, speaking of Gub'mint, I wonder when they last inspected that place? Mmmkay?

No worse than the 1994 Transco pipeline fire in Edison, NJ that affected several of my cow orkers who lived in the nearby apartments. Notice how this event embraces a current greenie agenda on a greenie website raising FEARs of... of... GLOBAL WARMING! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE! YYYAAAaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember the Con Ed gas explosion and fire in Hells Kitchen back in the late 80's. The radiant heat melted the paint off cars blocks away. Started when a back hoe ruptured a gas line at a Con Ed facility.

Of course the Greenie bastardes are going to promote global warming. But we all know its just a natural bike.

That's odd, the Gashouse District is cross town from Hell's Kitchen and was famous for the Gashouse Gang and their farts producing illuminating gas for the city. Hell's kitchen is famous for cooking up prodigious amounts of steam heating it. Then back in 2007:
Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah
Someone's in the kitchen I know
Someone's making love to Dinah
And she's about to blow!

Good thing Texas has this all handled, and wont need a dime from the federal government for aid.

Sorry, I meant Hell's Gate.... It happened on December 29th of 1989 in Hells Gate. My error.

1989 On December 29, shock waves from an explosion ruptured a 30 inch gas transmission pipeline operating at 350 psi in the Hell Gate section of New York City, New York. The rupture was 11 feet long, and escaping gas ignited, killing 2 people, injuring one other person, and destroying 2 buildings and 50 automobiles.
