When I used to hang around with Pavarotti, he did, too.

Back when I owned WQXR, I introduced the two of them. We always joked about it.

I'll put it this way. Spending the time I did in downtown NYC it was hard for me not to know Lou Reed.

I used to see his wife all the time. I have liked a lot of her experimental art. Electra Elf (Rev. Jen) was around too. She used to wear her pointed elf ears to go to the supermarket. The Lower East Side (East Village) is what Greenwich Village would like to be. Lived there for 2 years and it was home. Even had their own newspaper. See sig line.

Yep. I lived on Norfolk Street for 3 years. Hung out at the club on Rivington and Suffolk and all the cool clubs down there ant got to know a lot of the greats. Musicians, actors, actresses , poets, writers, beats, they all hung out at my apartment and we had some wild parties up there. Some of them were druggers but I didn't partake in any of that bad stuff nor did I allow it in my apartment,. Many of those who were at my place were and still are quite well known. Was intimate with a well known actress/model; who frequented and lived in that area. It was a cool scene and I was one of the main cats in the area, There was a time when I couldn't walk between 14th Street to Delancy without severally people calling out my name and running up to talk to me and invite me to a gig, a play, a show, or a party, or ask when I would be throwing the next bash at my apartment. I was to coolest dude in the Lower East Side. Then I decided to throw it away and leave. The Lower east Side isn't what it was then. Now it's all trendy overpriced yuppie-land. But I will always be a L.E.S dude.

P.. If you run into David Peel ask him about me. Me and Dave were good friends for many years. I was also well known in the South Bronx. Sounds like you were a pretty popular guy round the LES. You might have been up at my apartment a few times but never knew it was me,
