I am sitting here thinking about what was happening at this date and time 1 year ago. Hurrican sandy had just made landfall a couple hours ago. Here I was sitting in the dark with no electricity and the building I am in was literally shaking as it was being bombarded with 100 mph wind gusts. Huge trees were snapping and telephone poles were getting busted in half all over the place. .In the midst of the wild hammering and near deafening wind and the splattering rain there was little you could see from the windows except blue power flashes in every direction, some very close by, some very distant. As we sat through the peak of the storm we just kept hoping that at no point would a tree come crashing through the roof. People near the ocean had to evacuate as huge waves came into their homes and the sea filled their living rooms, bedrooms, basements. Its calm , cool, clear and quiet out there tonight, quite the opposite of what we lived through just one year ago to this date.
