Surge protectors were one of those things that were a hard sell with clients...sure, you're spending 30 grand on your A/V, but $400 for something that won't spontaneously combust or be a paperweight from the MOVs burning out in 2 years is a bridge too far? :yuck:

Used Brickwall or ZeroSurge or Surgex stuff is reasonable. And indestructible, for anything short of a direct strike.

I never used to use them until a direct hit took out about $6,000 of electronics. Now all major equipment is graced with one.

APC's real stuff is good. I may have one of these downstairs--will check in the morning and call for a replacement.
