lol!

Close as I get is Macramé, and that's as far as I'm going dammit.
Yarn is far too colorful and soft. Real men work with rope, cord, twine, and the occasional weathered stick. ;)

Real men do whatever they need to in order to make it through life without being excessively dependent.

Likewise, so do real women.

I feel very sorry for those folks who rely heavily on a spouse for their well-being, only to wake up one day and find themselves sans partner - and powerless to function.

See this a lot, and often ends up with the gentleman getting married again in what is usually an uncomfortable time frame for the rest of the family; Seems to be mostly men. Says a lot about what's up.

A long time ago, I took some speed and knitted a two car garage in just a couple of days.

You are describing my Dad. He is from the older generation where men just don't do women's chores. Bachelor men ate out, and dropped off their laundry, and paid for house cleaning. After Mom passed away in May, I had to teach Dad how to operate the washer, and dryer. He already had the folding skills. I live less than a mile away, so some days are a bit busy. I do not know if I can properly teach him how to cook. I showed him how to cut up a whole chicken into 9 pcs with the removing the keel bone. It was a disaster. Our local Elderly United teaches classes for men in his predicament. He does not want to be around "old people".

He man Rosey Grier did needlepoint. I would not refer to him as a sissy, at least not in his earshot. He'd kick my ass.

Knitting is for weirdo's that wear Mr Rodger sweaters. I learned to sew, now that is useful. I inherited an old 1955 Singer sewing machine from Ma. It is all gear driven and it'll pound nails into 2x4s. I found out there is a huge market for sewing heavy sunbrella materials into boat canvas and patio furniture repairs.
