Thanks Guy's appreciated ;)
Busy day here....

New satellite reciever installed .....

Some pitfalls too....
After our provider decided to get Discovery and National Geographic in HD only i needed the trusty Echostar AD 3000 IP Viacces to retire.....

Hoped to put that one off for some time, i was chuffed about the simplicity and good working of the reciever....

OK, went out and after some deliberation got the next stuff:
VU+ Solo, no need for watching/recording multiple channels.
New Gbox 3000 actuator motor driver box, driving the Triax 1.1 meter motorised dish from 45 east to 45 west.
Titanium 0.1 dB noise figure LNBF.
10 meter long HDMI cable to get to the Panasonic Viera Plasma telly...
And i thought i was set up.

Connected the stuff, had the internet connection set up fast, 32 GB USB stick for backup/recording working and went and put the arc back in with sats, not got it working though......
This morning i measured the Actuator, and after ( only https://forums.hamisland.net/images/smilies/wink.png ) 13 years loyal service the 24" actuator motor was bust.
Since it is my birthday i decided to go to my trusted satellite shop here and get a new one, superjack HARL 3624 and the heavy duty one driving the Triax 1.1 meter dish.
Got back from the roundtrip of 100 km, dismantled the old one and put the new one up, greased the bearing points that hold the swivel bearings, connected the old cable closed up the back, done.

Back into the house testing the new actuator, and lo and behold it worked first try https://forums.hamisland.net/images/smilies/wink.png

Again ( 3rd or 4th time i forgot) setting up the satellites and actuator settings for Turksat 42 east to Panam sat 45 west.
Limits set, hard and software, and then the task getting all the sats back in the memories as well reciever as well actuator G box.

Done, took 3 hours, set up favourite list done.
Watching as i type., kept me busy from 08.00 till 16.00 this afternoon, did the shopping for the next week, done.
That was some birthday.....
Now go and play with the reciever and see what it all can do, i bet it just won't paint the house and do the dishes, but the rest it could do https://forums.hamisland.net/images/smilies/wink.png

New reciever, new software Linux which i'm a complete nincompoop with, recepe for disaster>? https://forums.hamisland.net/images/smilies/wink.png
What i found out, picture quality perfect, sound very good.
New actuator is much faster as the old Echostar 24" actuator it replaced.
I'm using 17 inches of the available 24" length, as i did with the old one.
Open Pli software on the reciever, installed some usefull applications, did an upgrade, and no smoke came out https://forums.hamisland.net/images/smilies/wink.png
CCcam up and running.
Backed up the software just when the install was done.

Now looking for what the box all can do more, some new digging to do in all possebilleties.
