The guy probably takes a gold plated deuce everytime he visits the loo. (or so he thinks)
Or the guy got ripped off when he bought it, and thinks (incorrectly) that it's a bargain at that price.

This was on 'Zed too.. same price, so I presume it was the same guy.
I have V8000, I didn't realize I was sitting on such a valuable piece of equipment.
I'll sell mine for a mere $235.

You're going to have to do better than that—the guy is edging toward getting a clue and has dropped the price to $200. So now you can buy his dusty old piece of...equipment and save a whole $15 over the price a brand new one.

Bottom line, it's a used 2m radio. It's not even that new by today's standards. Used 2m rigs of this caliber go for 50 to 75 $$$ all day. Clean and in the box or at least clean with mobile mount and disinfected mic, $100.

They go for a little more out here; he could probably get $150 for it if he cleaned it up.

You're prolly right on that it being a 75 watter. A lot of VHF gear goes up for sale around here. Used to be the HF rigs.

Awhile back, HRO had some FT-2900 75 watter factory refurbs they were selling for $120. My son and I each bought one strictly for ARPS use. It has been in my truck for the duration and hasn't ever given a moments grief. Between here and Austin, via the scenic route through New Mexico, it kept very good track of us, and there weren't many places that my signal wasn't reported.
