Making turns on the snow. Just got me some radical new stix and I can HARDLY FREAKING WAIT! Keeps me young, and aliiiiiive!

I've been wanting these even more than another motorcycle, and yes, I've been looking for another Concours. :agree:

Phat, radical, made in Colorado. Crazy cool artwork. The Icelantic Shaman, produced in the Never Summer snowboard factory.

Got a great deal on a demo pair. $400, with bindings. Yes, I know, this is a foreign land that most of you don't grOk.

The artwork is done by Travis Parr. (http://www.parrstudios.net/) Wild, wild artist. Here's one of his new pics. I love it!

Must be catching. I was thinking of the first mountain blizzard we got up here last December. The first White Christmas I've seen since the I was 5. We had snow on the ground until mid April. Looks after 2 months of summer. :-D

Nice skis. I don't surf much either, but I still like to look at cool boards. When we had the boat, I loved to water ski, which I'm sure is quite different. Not much snow in the high desert any more. I think we've had a total of just under an inch total in the last 20 years.

ON EDIT: How far do you have to travel to get to good ski conditions in the winter?

One to four hours hours to some of the best skiing on the planet. Depending on where I go.

I get a "multiple area" seasons pass every year, which used to be free, when I taught full time at Breckenridge.

Here's a video of other folks skiing one of my favorite runs at Breck... which I consider to be my "home" ski area.

I tend to rip it a lot faster, because... well... I CAN! Which is such a thrill after almost dying just a few years ago.

Celebrate life folks! On a scooter, banging the drums or a guitar. Whatever. Joy! It matters.

Looks like a hoot. My only problem is my joints (not the smoking kind) don't do well in cold weather.

Yes, kind of. Pretty cool, eh? Icelantic is a wild, weird company. (http://www.icelanticskis.com/)

I'd love to work for them, but I'm an olde pharte.

Find Your Rhythm
There’s a subtle symmetry that exists in all.
A current that connects life, though beats and breaths, trees and tides, seasons and suns.
This cunning cadence breathes life into everything we know.
Rhythm. Rhythm, not to be confined to, is defined as, timed movement through space.
Timed…..Movement…..Through……Space…. Rhythm is everywhere.

It’s in the right left right of a bootpack, and in the thump...
Thum-thump… of your heart as you summit.

It’s in waves lapping you to sleep and the moon that makes you howl.
There is a fainter, fiercer undercurrent, however, that is the generator of greatness.
It is here, in the tiny spaces where you think nothing exists, that we invite you to explore.

The inconspicuous intimation that gives reason to things unknown. The silent strand that drives you to be you.
Icelantic strives for rhythm and balance in all things – ski, art, life and expression – and we invite you to join us.

Let’s do it together: Find Your Rhythm.

I'm from Boston originally, and if I never see that much snow again for the rest of my life I'll be OK with that.

Snow is good when there's about a foot or less of it at a time around - and it's gone quickly.
