This afternoon we're heading to a friends beach house for the weekend. I plan to surf fish from sun up to sun down, so don't call me, I'll call you!

I'm taking the Hasselblad with me too, so hopefully I'll get a few shots while I'm there. I'll have my bowfunky with me as well, so maybe I'll try to hit a repeater or two.

What are you up to this weekend?

I am going to mow the lawn. With the medical restrictions I have for the next 3 weeks, it will take all weekend. Saturday night, the plan is a local club that will feature 4 bands. I have been asked to audition for one of them, I want to know what I might be getting myself into.

Getting through one of the hottest days this year 40 C or 104 F with lots of moist in the air.
Tomorrow installing the new HD satellite reciever VU+ solo and V 3000 actuator driver.
Setting up the motor drive for 36 satellites from 45 east to 47 west, then rescan each satellite and make a favourite list, setting up the Linux reciever for internet connection, install the 32 Gb USB stick as hard drive for recording etc.
Temps tomorrow lower as today like 73 F so cooling down the house internal as well.
FT 2000-D on listening at 40 meter just had some chats with locals on 160 meter.
If i get the satellite done tomorrow Sunday will be spend on the radio, getting a few more stations in the log.
Tomorrow evening BBQ here ;)

Saturday morning, bright and early, I will be here in the Radio Hospital ready for emergencies. I know of atleast TWO Hams bringing radios over for surgery. Maybe I will have time to MOUSE with the SR-2000 later in the day, but I am out of clues on it. It has me BUFFALOED!!!

Sunday morning, after church, will be our San Diego QCWA meeting, where the program will be the WORLD DEBUT of the new movie "DAYTON 2013: The ADVENTURE".
Afterward, it will be back to the Radio Hospital for more radio Repair!

Who needs brakes on a forklift? Just drop the forks down and let the weight of the load stop you.

I'm going fishing too on Saturday. Lake fish. Trout, Bass, Perch, various panfish and several varieties of catfish.

On a different note, so you built a J-pole, great deal but, you have now started down a long road of addiction which will have you chasing gain. Good luck. Not everyone comes out on the other end the same person they were going in.
I wish you a safe journey.

It's a very l-o-n-g and sordid story having to do with a former Islander who was a bit...eccentric. Let me know when you have a couple of hours to spare and I'll post some links that will explain it all. In short, at various times the Islander in question claimed he was an Arab, he was a Mexican, that he owned a Bell 47 helicopter and that he was an expert on obsolete Motorola commercial radios. He also was always looking for a taco even though he lived in San Antonio where he must have been knee-deep in them.

There are TACKOS..... And then there are FISH TACKOS!!!!

MMMM--MMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I get some free at Rubios in a few days!

Nothing better in the world than FISH TACKOS!!! All U Midwesterners and East Coasters
probably never heard of Fish Tackos. Itsa San Diego thing. Actually originated in San Felipe, just across the mountains from Ensenada.

They put a special white sauce in them that makes them TREMENDOUSLY ADDICTIVE!

But, if U haven't been to San Diego, U probably never happened across one!

The ANNOYING thing about it is that I COULD have gone down to San Diego Stadium for the FAN FEST for the CHargers, or out to Point Loma for POLITIFEST, a big event there too.
But NO!!!! I had to sit here and WAIT for people to come so I can fix their radios for FREE!!!

Now I get a message late in the day they aren't going to make it. SURE is nice for other people can WASTE my valuable FREE time!

Filthy bastids. Now if they ever bring their radios in, you should fix them and then hold them for a year, saying that you've been swamped at work.

Got back from clubbing. It is different being one of the few folks in the building not under the influence of intoxicating liquors. The bad part, do I really want to pay $4.00 for a glass of watered down diet Coke? Went with the band in question to breakfast afterwards. I am going to practice with them next week. Do I really want to allow myself to do this again? Their bass player is awesome. I do not know if I can fill his shoes.

I wouldn't think about it. If they think you are what they need, then they know what they want. After you're with them for awhile, you'll pick it up and probably do just as good a job if not better.

It would be really hard for me to partake in an activity like that. Life is very different at 33 than it was at 23, and after 5 years of being sober, it would be really hard for me to tolerate that kind of situation. I suppose it comes down to commitment and compromise. How much are you willing to compromise for your commitment to your passion?
