I saw on our local T.V. news report serious flooding in the Las Vegas area after heavy rainfall that they're suffering after that dry period...... hope that the recent range fire has'nt caused extra problems because of all that rain.I hope you're doing O.K. Adam.....:-|

Maybe God is on Adam's side, and washing away some of the more sinful. By the way Adam, 1 cubit=18 inches. I hope the high water doesn't get near your casa.

Hopefully all is well with him. The news sez a lot of people are in a blackout. I think this happens once in awhile there.

This old town is filled with sin
It'll swallow you in
If you've got some money to burn
Take it home right away
You've got three years to pay
And Satan is waiting his turn
The scientists say it'll all wash away
But we don't believe anymore
'Cause we've got our recruits
In their green mohair suits
So please show your I.D. at the door

Chorus:
This old earthquake's gonna leave me in the poorhouse
It seems like this whole town's insane
On the thirty-first floor your gold-plated door
Won't keep out the Lord's burning rain

A fool came around tried to clean up this town
His ideas made some people mad
But he trusted in his crowd
So he spoke right out loud
And they lost the best friend they ever had

Chorus
On the thirty-first floor your gold-plated door
Won't keep out the Lord's burning rain

I am here. Thanks for the concern.

We had some crazy thunderstorms and rain for two days. Of course, you just know i have to tell the story of the week.

The week was interesting...wednesday, i woke up early with a nasty stomach bug that had me in the bathroom for all the reasons you would expect. Then i crashed hard and barely got myself to work that night, nearly passing out at various times on stage. Considering it was an outdoor gig, downtown, in the heat, it really kicked my ass. Thursday, it was my birthday, i was much better but still hurting, and at a different venue. Friday, i felt all better but the storms you guys are talking about hit us...right down the middle of the strip! At first, it was just a drizzle and a little wind, then it got worse, then it started pouring, then the soundman had us stop, then all hell broke loose! We were scrambling to unplug and cover our gear, because...you guessed it...we are outside. Our stage is metal and it was a small pond. Im not playing with electric instruments, singing into a mic wired into a huge powered PA, on a metal stage while standing in a inch of water...so we waited. I went inside to visit with Devie and the casino was caving in, water pouring down onto the machines, a river flowing through the lobby. The casino is a bunch of cheap asses who demand to get their moneys worth, they made us stay, and play. We lost only 17 minutes of stage time. Not a drop of rain fell at the house though, go figure. Here is a shot i took before it really kicked in...right before those drunk fools in front scrambled for safety.

Saturday, outdoor gig again. We did a poolside corporate event for a radio station on the far south end of town. When we showed up, we found the stage was in the direct sunlight and straight up murderous! We were doing a tribute act, so we were in all disco and 80's clothes. Here is the set up before it opened...you see my gear in the backround, i had to move it after 10 minutes because it was melting my equipment.

The sun went down and it was still hot, but rather nice by the pool. In the middle of our 80's set, the wind got heavy and i was keeping an eye on the lighting trusses as i dont need a 1000 lbs of steel crushing me...wearing THOSE clothes! Terrible way to die. We pressed on for a few more songs. I then looked up behind the drummer into the night sky and saw a huge, ominous storm front looming down on us. This one meant business! The guitarist/boss did the chop motion meaning last song. We said our thanks, told everyone to go in and enjoy the casino and grabbed our shit as fast as we could before it reached us. I packed up and by the time i reached my car, it was on us. Wind, lightning every two seconds...two major fronts converging. It was wicked. I called my wife for a few minutes and hit the long road home from the far south side of the valley where the eastern storm was, to the far northwest side where we live, where the huge north storm was. Our storms only last for a few hours at the most, but the flooding is usually wicked, not too much of it, despite the severe warnings (i get the alerts on my phone). Tonight i was with a different band back at fridays venue, they were calling for more monsoonal weather, but it never happened, instead, we got nasty humidity with 102 degrees. I couldnt move my hands on the neck of the bass, it was like spray glue. Then someone thought it would be nice to turn on the mist fans over the stage and drench us and our gear with wet fog. I swear, i think i am banned from playing a gig indoors this summer. I went inside to relax with my wife on our break...the casino fire system tripped, causing the siren to deafen us for 20 minutes. After the week my poor wife had, MUCH worse than mine, we both just laughed. Whatever, why not.

I just got home, safe and sound, and now have a big bowl of boiled shrimp, lemon and cocktail sauce and im going to tear that shit up!

Looks like you had an "interesting" week if i might downplay it so..
Good to see you back in relax and chow mode, relax and things will get better.
Heatwave here, maybe thunderstorms tomorrow aand wednesday, but the heat will stay after that.
Take care...

Great attitude. That's what separates the bassman from the rest of the band, well, that and a crowbar. Glad you're okay, Adam.

Yeah, and some people think show-biz driveway pukers are dreamy, too. But I won't mention any names. bob
