One year ago today, on Friday July 13th two individual lives departed from this world and bloomed as one. I find this fitting for my project. The first anniversary is known as paper and its flower is the carnation (subject to debate). Due to this I have been (painstakingly) making a bouquet of paper carnations. I have also given them a slight spritz of wild flower perfume. Now to find the perfect vase.

I am thinking that my wife will add this half-bouquet of carnations to her shadow box that contains the dried rose from our first date, along with a flower from her wedding bouquet.

Of course this is not the only thing that I am doing to celebrate but I hope she likes this gift the best. It comes from the heart and I made it. :) Other items on the agenda are as follows: Breakfast (done), lunch (done), nice dinner with Champagne (next up), and a trip to the spa (tomorrow). On Monday we leave for a four day romantic get away in Toledo (Spain). Rose peddles on the bed, Jacuzzi (ensuite), tours of the three major religions churches, and a tour of the sword blacksmith facilities (her idea).

Sounds good to me. :)

That being said, it was hard to believe that a year had passed, back in April, since my arrival in Spain. Even harder to fathom that a year has passed since my wedding. I raise my glass and hope for many more to come.

Well done Travis. Sounds like you have some good ideas for things that will last the years, and be fun to look back on. Speaking of back. Don't let her get behind yours a the sword blacksmiths shop.

Oh, you might want to rephrase this:
nice dinner with Champagne (next up), it made me a little nauseous. :-P

Congrats to you and your bride.

Good, just as long as you keep it down, it's not "next up".

By the way Travis, some of the guys are bitching because they lost money on you. Not me, I always bet on the vampire.

Let's just say that in order to get paid, I have to come up with change for a quarter.

Cava is to Spain what Champagne is to France and Bumwine is to the good ol' USA. Oh no, take a closer look at that locomotive and tell me if the name Loewy comes to mind. EEK!

I cant tell the difference between a good Cava and a good Champagne. My wallet can though.

Why would they do that? It would cost more. Though, to be honest, alcohol is so cheap here that it doesn't really matter what you grab.

That's what I used to think.......................... until I tried to grab a waitress.
