They've bid this radio up to $339...

But HRO has them at $337 after $100 rebates.

Do people not shop prices?

It's eBay. What do you expect?

eBay is a terrible place to buy used ham gear. It is, however, an excellent place to sell used ham gear. I sold a whole bunch of stuff back in April and made a killing.

It's about time you realized fleaBay is an on line hamfest; sellers think their shit is made of gold and buyers think their gold is made of shit. Now what did Dr. Brackish Okun say about $2000 toilet seats? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okun%27s_law

Sell everything on ebay "for parts or repair." A buyer can buy a functioning unit and claim it's broken when it arrives and you will have no recourse except to trust that the buyer will not fuzusk you.

The ones that are really worth the extra money come from a certain "private collection".

Which private collection would that be?

buyers on ebay are pretty damn stupid.

ive seen USED ic-2100 going for over 130+ they were only 129.99 NEW when in production. ive seen some of them hit the 200 mark.

If/when I sell my TS-850SAT, I will sell the DSP-100 separately.

For all of the reasons stated above.

After moving here to the Corn Desert, I think I see why ebay is overpriced.

In metro CA, you can find just about everything you want on craigslist or through vhf or the 40 meter swat nets. Also, there are numerous ham radio flea markets where a lot of stuff shows up. If you're willing to travel, you can pretty much hit one every weekend in the spring and summer.

Out here, NADA. Craigslist has zippo. No ham fests, except in Chicago which is 2 1/2 hours away. Even the Chicago craigslist listings are crappy.

I used to spend about $300 once a month at the LARK (Livermore ARC) hamfest when it was on. Used to walk away with all kinds of stuff. Can't do that here. SOOOO the people go to ebay or to the way overpriced pawn shop in East Peoria. (Example: The guy had a 1980 vintage FT-7 with power supply and a Dentron 1000A for $850! He sold it.)
