We have 90+ hams caught and executed for working for the underground force here building transceivers and recievers and sending data over to the U.K.
Getting caught ment being tortured and be shot at dawn after they were done with you.
A simple monument remembers the fallen Hams here.
Paid for by the hams of course, not much reckognition from the government as usual.
