Churning through the fleabay listings, I found this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RF-SIGNAL-GENERATOR-HP-608D-10-420-MHZ-5-BANDS/350813744881

Note the Hallicrafters inventory plate on the left side. Appears to be a bit of test bench or manufacturing equipment from back in the day...:)

Picking that thing up would probably megahertz.

It SURE is tempting, but I resisted the urge!

Just shy of $200? ("Buy it now" price + shipping)

I love Hallicrafters nostalgia, but not that much.

Be nice if someone resurrected that company.

Be nice if someone resurrected that company.Yeah. Well, I don't think it's going to happen.

First, technically, the company still exists. Northrup bought them for the military/commercial business; they sold someone the name and the rights to the amateur line, but that was all.

Second, after the 'new' Hallicrafters company went bankrupt... a couple of times... word is that the Halligan family arranged for someone to buy the rights to the name. And they've sat on it ever since. Oh, about once every 10 years or so, there's a rumor that the company is going to be resurrected... but it never happens.

We have a better chance of the no-longer-part-of-Rockwell Collins bringing an amateur line back, than seeing Hallicrafters come back.

I want to find one from the Eico test benches and see how out of calibration they really are...

:D

Is that even possible? You're presuming that Eico ever used test or calibration equipment in the first place...
