Nice job! I did something similar for my DC-30 but instead of plastic and pop rivets I soldered two tiny pushbuttons right to the 1/8" plug. Can be used as either a paddle or straight key.

That's a sweet hack! You should do an instructable on it, along with some of your beacon work.

MFJ-561K, about $20.00. A bit high priced, but actually works well, strapped down so it doesn't move.

I built one of these, long ago.But, I'm a ham-fisted slapper. :lol:

Yeah, same here. I have a Vibroplex single-lever paddle, solid brass and steel. The sucker must weigh in at five pounds but I still manage to move it all over the desk when I'm sending code.

Setting my Bencher paddle up for a very lite touch, it moves very little.
