Now that Steve Jobs is no longer running the show, chief industrial designer Jonathan Ive is revamping the look of Apple's mobile operating system. He's moving away from skeuomorphism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skeuomorph) to a simpler, flatter appearance. About time, I say; I never did care for that fake wood grain and linen stuff. More power to you, Jony (not a typo, that's how he spells it).
