As I was going through some old college notes, tucked away in a pocket in a notebook was my calculator, which we used in college in the old days (not as old as Cor - Slide rule, you know... (friendly poke)). It is a Casio fx-7000G. Great calculator in its day. Of course, dead batteries. So i stopped in at the local CVS, bought batteries, and there it was. Contrast was waaaaaayyyy off, and fortunately, Casio has a faq page - question #3, contrast adjustments. So, before I buttoned up the back, i left a note explaining how to adjust the contrast, just in case of the next time....

When the first four function RPN units came out, the ones with the little red LED displays that had the optical bubble for magnification, I was tasked with fixing them. At the time they sold for some big bucks, and fixing them could be profitable. Now you get them for a buck one fifty at the checkout counter at the grocery store. And they have a bizillion functions that can can be used to plot a course to Uranus and back.

You actually took notes?

:twisted::spin:

I remember using one of these, although I never knew (or wanted to know) enough math to have a reason to own one:
