The Epsom, N.H., man attended a carnival in Manchester on Saturday where he played a ball-tossing game called "Tubs of Fun." Gribbohm told WBZ-TV his goal was to win an Xbox Kinect (http://boston.cbslocal.com/2013/04/29/nh-man-loses-life-savings-on-carnival-game/%3Cbr%20/%3E) for his kids, but after spending $300 on the game without success, he went home to get another $2,300 -- all of the money he had.

He did win a nifty stuffed Dreadlocked Banana and they gave him $600 back...

It reminds me of a European guy I saw playing at a three card monte box on Times Square back in the 70's. Naturally he kept losing yet he insisted on playing over and over again , laying down more and more money each time and losing every time. Somehow he was imagining that he would win. His American girlfriend was pleading with him to stop playing. "Don't you understand... you cannot win, the game is fixed !" ,she kept pleading to him until the guys running the box told her to shut up and stand in the back. But he continued to put more and more money on the box, relentlessly. I almost felt like kicking his ass for being such a jackass. The only thing that spared him from losing the last of his cash was when a passerby (possibly a shill) messed with the box and the guys running the box went to kick his ass. In that short time frame his girlfriend managed to pull Dumbo away and get him across the street. The guys running the box hollered for him to come back. One more game and they would have cleaned him. But they didn't care, they made out good on the sucker. Probably the best mark they had that day. They basically emptied his wallet.
