I put this little spreadsheet together for someone this morning and thought I'd share it. It's useful for calculating the shunt and meter series resistance required for DC current metering circuits based on a small milliameter.
The fields in blue can be changed to fit your needs. Power dissipation and voltage drop of the shunt and other components are calculated, along with the current through the meter movement.
Zip file attached contains both Microsoft Excel version and an OpenOffice/LibreOffice ods version.
