I just confirmed some sad news.

Luis XE1L died of a major heart attack, shortly after the boat returned to San Diego from the recent TX5K Clipperton DXpedition. :(

No further details available at this time.

That was a real shocker. How old was he anyway? He looked pretty young, relatively speaking.

A real gentleman and a first class operator in every sense of the term. He will be missed.

I have two QSOs with him on 15m phone on his home call. Last one in 2012 during the WPX contest. A real shame he had to go so soon. RIP.

Luis was a real gentlemen,we had many long QSOs over the yrs on cw ,he was a fine operator,good husband and father-you will be
missed Louis-bless you-the creator has a new mission for you buddy,till we meet again.
