Just worked Czech Republic, Bahamas and Virgin Islands with my jive dipole on 15. All solid copy.

Haven't heard any JAs yet. Hope to have the beam up by CQWW WPX phone.

Hey, that's pretty cool. I hear that Kentucky is also a hot spot for DX due to geography.

So, it's good that band conditions don't resemble the name of the state; Ill And Noisy. (;->) Well, at least you can get your WAS on 2M which is something I can't do here on the right coast.

Even moving from Kansas, there was a definite difference in DX contacts for me. In Kansas, I would not even hope to work DX on a dipole. In Illinois, Europe is almost simply easy.

Don't sweat those JA stations, Janet, you must have gotten plenty of that action when you were here on the left coast. I swear, I can copy JAs on my fillings.

That's funny because I can get Radio Havana on a filling that has stayed bright over all these years. Anytime I have something with vinegar in it, the signal goes up to an S-7.

We spent a bit of time in and around Rochelle back in December. The town and its surroundings remind me a lot of the Toledo area. Get around where we live at present and it's simply too hilly to put up a decent antenna unless you're fortunate enough to reside atop one of said hills.

True dat. I got a shoebox full of JA cards.

It's just be fun to work them from here.

Local op worked a ZL on 6M yesterday. I didn't have time to get on the radio and be disappointed when I couldn't hear the ZL though.

McLean County, Illinois... sounds vaguely familiar. (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/23/illinois-concealed-carry-_0_n_1824269.html)

If that's true, good going. You chose wisely.
