Rumors of Morse's demise are a bit premature...

An ultra-small Japanese satellite is being spotted from the ground, thanks to a set of lights that flash brightly in Morse code. The novel cubesat, known as FITSAT-1, has been orbiting Earth since early October of last year. Though it tips the scales at less than 3 pounds (1.3 kilograms), FITSAT-1's powerful light-emitting diodes (http://www.space.com/16741-japanese-cubesats-space-station-fitsat1.html) (LEDs) make it a compelling target for skywatchers.
"As long as the LEDs are active, then you will be able to see it using binoculars," veteran Canadian satellite watcher Kevin Fetter told SPACE.com.

Will this turn into a code/no-code thread?

I don't know why they didn't send in PSK-31. It is more error free.

Because there is no PSK Zeppelin.

I bet that was just a prototype. I bet the next one they send up will be the size of a Rubik's cube and be undetectable by both terrestrial and satellite radar.

Maybe a little something for North Korea to think about?

They have those already. Not the size of a Rubik's cube (Which could be done, during deployment at least), a little bigger. 10 cm^2.

Speaking of which I just stumbled on the picture I was looking for. Better late than never I suppose.
