Yeah, it wasn't exactly a secret that he was gay:

Nabors said he's been open about his homosexuality to co-workers and friends but never acknowledged it to the media before. He doesn't plan to get involved in the issue politically.

It's like Anderson Cooper who just brushed it off when he was "outed."

Yeah, it wasn't exactly a secret that he was gayJim is having a bit of a problem with revisionist history. He got irate about 15 years ago when an local Indianapolis reporter asked him about his homosexuality and he angrily denied it.

Who cares?

I mean, really. Big deal. Gay marriage is now legal in many states, won't be much longer before it's legal in all. And those states that haven't legalized it yet have to acknowledge and recognize legal marriages (gay or straight) from other states... so in effect, it is legal everywhere.

Anyone who's gay who wants to marry their partner can do so.

Isn't that the way it should be?

So why make a newsplash over it? Does he need the publicity that badly? Or is he afraid that too many people think he's mostly dead... is he afraid that if they think he's all dead, they'll go through his pockets and look for loose change?

All I can say to this is "Goll-eee!"

Acknowledged or not, the fact that Neighbors is gay has been common knowledge for years and nobody outside a few religious whack jobs really cares any more.

No, they haven't. Several states do not recognize same-sex marriages.

It's how it should be. However, it's not the case.

Well, I agree here. It's almost passe'. However, a story is generally ran whenever any celeb gets married.

It should be noted he married 2 weeks ago and it's just now showing up in the news -- they didn't seem to be in any rush to get publicity.

I came up with an idea why and am now throughly grossed-out.

My dad was in college with Neighbors -- Go Bama, Roll Tide! I think there were suspicions way back then. I always liked Neighbors: he sure was a regular fixture on TV during the 60's and 70's, when I was growing up.

OK, let his ol' ass get married to whomever he wants to. But I can't get the picture outta my head of him in bed singing in deep baritone "Back Home Again in Indiana" ! Ya know just to get the festivities started from the pole position.

I thought he died several years ago. Anyone ever eat his nuts? His nuts. He's still farming nuts, right?

Anyone remember the reports that Frank Sutton, who played TV's Sgt. Carter, had been arrested and charged with "abusing his privates"?
