What a super nice guy... had a nice visit with him at the NAMM show, where
I'm attending on business. (If you don't know what the NAMM show is, just
Google it).

We talked a bit about his microphones and ham radio in general. He said
this week's HAMNation program (live.twit.tv) features himself, Gordon
West, Joe Walsh, and others.... not sure if he meant this past Wednesday
(it's archived if so) or next wednesday.... but either way, it was a
pleasure to meet a legend in the microphone world.

Photo below is myself and Bob - I'm the egghead on the left....

Holy crap, that scared the dog off. Oh wait, I don't have a dog.

It's always nice when the founder/owner will take time to talk to the common people. I stopped by MFJ in Mississippi one day and Martin Jue gave me a personal tour of the place. Nice guy.

You're at NAMM? Sweet, I've been a few times..

I've also talked with Bob briefly, he does seem like a very nice man.

He is very nice - but I really don't think he'll ever get much traction with his microphones
in the hard-core "pro audio market" that is NAMM. He might get some dealers here and
there, but I don't see him making much headway against Shure, Audix, Sennheiser, AKG,
and all the rest. But I admire all he's done for the ham radio world for sure.

I met Bob Heil at the local HRO a couple of years ago and agree--he's a very nice guy and a real character. Was he wearing his red sneakers?

I use a Heil iCM with my old Icom rig.

That reminds me, I need to remember to add new PR-40 to my list for when I get back stateside.

Ive never got the chance to meet him or run into him on the air. My grandfather has and much like you says that he is a nice guy.

That would be cool....in general, i need to make it out to NAMM one of these years. All of my friends and fellow musicians are there.

Ask Joe Walsh, he uses Heil mics.

Bob is on regularly here in the midwest at night on 3.875
