Actually in many ways coffee is good for you. I just have to be careful because too much caffeine doesn't like me. The most unhealthy thing about coffee is not so much the coffee itself but the sugar people dump into it. I often see people dumping 3,4,5, even 6 sugars into a small cup. Some of them will be getting to know diabetes later in life. Since I am on a sugar and carb restricted diet I drink my coffee straight with no sugar at all. And I find I prefer it with no sugar. Finally I can taste the coffee.

Funny, the English are learning something new that us Americans and many Europeans have enjoyed for ages.

Seems that since TV overtook radio in the UK, more and more coffee has been the brew of choice. The reason I always heard was that you can make coffee during a TV commercial break, but tea takes a bit longer.
