That was the modern Segue version with all the electronical stuff. Cool.

Here's what old school Germans used. (or Italians or someone across the pond, eh)

Segway, not Segue.

I wonder how they pulled it off without the gyros and servo controls...?

I highly doubt that it would pass NYS DMV for use on public thoroughfares. NYS has one of the tougherst motor vehicle departments in the nation.

Safety issue. Right? It could pass all the normal street legal stuff like lights and turn signals but in NY, one single bureaucrat could simply say it's like being a pedestrian in the street. Crash tests would prove that it would have to be made into some cumbersome item to be used in NY.

I see the handlebars and footpegs, but it looks like the seat might give you a hemmoroidectomy.

Hit a bump and it would be like running your ass through a cheese slicer.

Looks like the chain would rip your ankles up. And the seat would definitely leave my fair ass feeling a bit sore.

Reminds me of an aquaintance years ago who was going to build a motorized skateboard. But unlike a typical "Go Ped" which has a handle with a throttle and brake his idea was that the entire thing would be foot actuated i.e. throttle/accelerator would be foot operated and as it zipped along you would steer it by shifting your weight as with a non-motorized skateboard. I thought of it as one of those "break your neck" type devices, much like the old gas powered pogo stick.

I concede that for all it's good points New York has one major flaw... It is a big time nanny state.

John, if you don't like how the state is generally ran, you are free to move to somewhere like West Virginia...

I like the state. I like the climate here, I like living right next to one of the worlds largest cities. I like the diversity of the state from the marine shores of Long Island to the pristine wilderness of the Adirondacks and everything inj between and so many other things. i.e. culture, cultural diversity, educational resources, climate, weather, etc. There is very good reason why I stay in New York and continue to live here, because I think it is one heck of a great state. However, the one drawback I have to admit to is that we are indeed a nanny state. But the state has enough to offer and appeals to me such that I am willing to tolerate the "nanny state" element.

This one is more suited to hauling my lardass around.

ETA: looks like there might be room for the beer cooler in the back, even.

If both treads travel at the same speed, that thing must be a bitch to turn.

A Kettenkrad - "chain driven wheel".

From what I've read on them the track brakes were set up to follow handlebar input and they steer like a trike.

No, the Kettenkrad (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SdKfz_2) was a somewhat different animal—dual tracks.

Those two are one and the same, with the exception of the "blackout"-style headlamp cover. While OEM, it isn't DOT legal for use on U.S. roads.

Sorry, I was looking at Charles's photos and missed the one above.
