We expected 70 today and got 55. Warm for this time of year for sure.
Nice pic. Beer, food, smoke, and a friendly face.
Love the look of that poly decking material

I hate this mild crap in the middle of the winter. Fortunately it's not going to last for too long. Strong winds and arctic temps are going to return.

Hah, gotta love it when it's warmer in S.W. Ontario in January than it is in San Diego. It's about 53F here at the moment.

Enjoyed my 58 deg day today. Didn't plan ahead, so no grilling; but got the yard cleaned up nicely (Dog's land mines stack up over the snow season).

Toward the end of next week temperatures are going to start dipping and diving.

But wait till the summer, when we start seeing week after week after week of triple digit temperatures and suffocating humidity.

Went bicycling yesterday on the Ohio-Erie Towpath Trail. Temps were in the low 60s but there was still a lot of ice on the canals, ponds and puddles adjacent to the path so I bundled up.

The trail itself was...interesting. The distance from the point where I enter the trail to the town of Canal Fulton is right around 12 miles. My best Canal Fulton round-trip (24mi) time (including several stops to fix a thrown chain) was ~1:35:00; this in late August.

The town of Clinton is about 3mi north of Canal Fulton. Yesterday's round-trip (18mi) time to Clinton - including two brief water stops - was over three hours.

Trail conditions were horrible - mixed ice, mud and water. I'm running 29x2.0 Serfas Drifters on my Fargo and they usually blast through wet ground without a problem. Pedaling was so difficult - traction so erratic - that I had to keep the front derailleur on the small or middle ring for most of the trip and thus made no more than 6mph except on paved stretches.

I should have taken my hardtail MB with its 2.0" knobbies but the last time I had that one out in the slop it fared no better.

Our grill is put away for the winter but we have a bunch of chicken breasts in the freezer...maybe I ought to break the thing out again. :chin:

I ordered a frame and fork for one of these last week. Rationale was to use it for snow rides when the trail was impassible. I am now rethinking that decision and will probably use it as my primary bicycle from the day of our first freeze until late March thaw. 4" tires laugh at trail soup:

Pic at the southernmost point of yesterday's ride. The Chippewa Creek is in the background - it's usually 6 to 8 feet lower than this. We're forecast to get a lot of heavy rain today. Given the fact that some of the trail was already very close to being underwater, this precipitation event will likely seal the deal and wash things out on the southernmost Summit County/northernmost Stark County portions. :wall:

If you guys have such warm air in Canada, how come you always send us the cold Arctic stuff?

Didn;t get quite so mild here although we did get into the low to mid 40's these past few days. Tomorrow they are calling for 55 deg F but on tues temps are going to start dropping back and return to winter, at least for a while.

must be nice....high yesterday was 28 degs F with wind....low this morning
was 0 degs F.....good thing we have passive Solar, was 76 degs F inside...

must have something to do with the altitude....7,200 ft ASL....and those cold
winds from our Northern neighbors in the Great White North....

Well, at this rate 2013 will probably surpass 2012 as the hottest year on record in the continental US.

That crap does not come from Canada. Your weather forecasters always blame us for your cold weather. It is a conspiracy against Canadians! It actually comes down through Canada from Alaska, that is the truth.

A lot of our weather fronts come from the Mid West USA. The temperature here is starting to drop from a high of 54 at 6 AM to the current 45 F at 5 PM.

BTW my signature picture was taken in mid January 2012, the day I drove the Cobra home from the dealer. When I left the dealer which is located about 70 miles west of me it was snowing hard. By time I got half way home the snow had quit and the drive was a peace of cake. But driving that car in the little bit of snow was not a fun drive!
