You have a convertible in VE3! FB, OM!

Nice station layout. What do you have on 40 or 75 antenna wise?

I just moved here from CA and I've worked 4 stations I've communicated with for years online, but never on the air.

Funny story. Your border guys (whatever they're called) detained my daughter for 3 hours after trying to cross from Detroit to Windsor when she was 18 and a student at the University of Michigan. She said the border guy almost let her through without her birth certificate but when she told them she was a music major, they told her to get out of the car. Probably thought she was a runner or something, which is funny, because that's the last thing she'd even THINK about doing. This was in 2004.

Yes I have a convertible in VE land. I drive it from April until the end of October. Usually with the top down (The car not my wife :))

To answer your question about my 80/40 meter antennas, both are dipoles. If you want to set up a sked just let me know.

Oh and that border thing, that happens both sides of the border!

Merry Christmas.

To one and all:

Merry Christmas. Happy Hannukah. Good Eid. Season's Greetings. Pleasant Winter Solstice. Sparkly Sparkle Season. Happy New Year.

Please select what is appropriate from the previous sentence. If appropriate seasonal festivity is missing, please feel free to substitute appropriately.

If you choose not to believe in or celebrate anything at this time of the year, then have a nice day anyway.

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the shack
Not a mode was HRDing, not even pack(et)
The dipoles were all hung on the trees all out there
In hopes that DX would someday be ringing in here
When all of a sudden, what fell? It was a ladder,
I sprang from my operating position (hee hee) to see what was the matter.
But what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a Chevrolet Biscayne, driver with a beer.
He'd smashed down my ash tree and knocked down my dipole
And drove into the pit that was to be my 160M vertical concrete hole.
I soldered to his car hood and ran up a connection
The old man on the lawn was throwing quite the conniption
I began pouring the concrete encasing the car
With a groundplane like this, my signals will go far
Er I heard him exclaim as he staggered out of sight
"blarby shishmass gooal" and good luck in the contest.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4jNAr9dnrwIs it my imagination (drank too much egg nog last night) or does the animation for the lead singer bear a resemblance a certain ex-Islander who has yet to emerge from the closet? (I'm not saying which one, you'll have to figure that one out...)

Another Christmas Eve almost gone. The neighborhood looked spectacular again, with all the houses putting luminaries on the curb. The usually quiet streets are bumper to bumper with all the sightseers driving through. Truly a sight to see.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all.
