Not really. But a response of a naked "No" is inaccurate. Admittedly, there's a tiny, probably almost vanishingly small chance of it, but that's not 0% chance.

I disagree--there is not even a vanishingly small chance. Ask Nick, our resident astronomer, what he thinks. Anything of any significance would not have escaped notice by this time. Even if you disregard the professionals, there are legions of highly competent amateur astronomers out with their telescopes every night looking to make a name for themselves by spotting exactly that sort of thing. Someone would have noticed.

Breaking News: NASA Scientists discovered an asteroid that is supposed to make impact on December 21st, around 2:37 pm. It is roughly 3000 km in diameter. It will make contact within a 300 mile radius of St. Petersburg, Russia. This was not supposed to go public but one of NASA's scientists is leaking the story.

I never believed that the world was supposed to end on Dec 21st. I do now. It seems legit. Here's the link:
