View Full Version : Frozen NiMh Batteries
Do NiCad & NiMh batteries go to sleep when they're frozen? I know I killed a drill NiCad when using it outdoors in freezing conditions.
Living here on the Far-Flung Islets of Langerhans, I don't often encounter freezing conditions but I do know that batteries do not like being cold. It slows down the chemical reaction that makes them work. Most will recover once they warm up, though.
I store all of my small cell phone & flashlight batteries in my refrigerator.

Old school carbon cells like the fridge. Makes no real difference with alkalines.
