Anyone ever have to paint the letters back on their keyboard with auto body touch up paint?

I don't need no stinkin' letters on my keyboard.

Numbers, on the other hand, are a completely different matter.

don't need letters.

besides, unless you're using some funky ultra-deluxe keyboard, keyboards are consumables.

I'm not going to throw away a perfectly good keyboard just because the letter have worn off. That's like getting rid of your car because the ashtrays are full. Even if you don't smoke, gum wrappers.

Keyboards are consumables.Tell that to my standard 104 $200 keyboard.

Though I can buy replacement keys..

The letters were already small but many letter keys were getting the print worn off. I got this keyboard about this time last year. Apparently, I either scrape the keys or the printing is simply subpar. At $30, this has been one of the better wireless mouse and keyboard set I've had.

I have run into this problem from time to time on certain keyboards but usually with only two or three keys being affected. These day's I just leave them blank because my fingers are used to where the keys are. I can pretty much type most of the time without looking at the keyboard.

As far as painting the letters back on I have found most paints rub off pretty quick. Ditto for markers. You might be able to get stencils but I doubt they'll last very long unless you dope them with some sort of clear coating.

Hum..A search shows standard 104 keyboards at $9.99. I suppose I am missing something here. I use laptops...my keyboard is built in.

And on my laptop, the keys are clear plastic and the letters are formed by the unpainted portion. That allows them to be lit from beneath by LEDs.

Some keyboards are quite expensive and run well over $1000.00

What do you suppose something like this costs?

That depends. Is that a citrine on the side or a more expensive jewel.

It'd be worth about tree fiddy here, and I'd be talkin' pennies.

No. Auto body paint. I can see the letters by the monitor light.

right. i get this on DFJK ... home row keys. since i'm a touch typist i only need to feel the bumps on F and J to type, so how they keys are labelled doesn't bother me.

right. and if i'm paying $1k for a keyboard the letter had better *never* wear off.
