When i saw those, and saw that they werent special shoes designed for amputees relearning how to walk, but instead were fashion statements...wow.

Good thing is that nobody on the face of this earth, no matter how fashion whore they are, would ever consider trying those on, much less stepping out in them.

Speaking of overpriced fashion statements...a B-1 just flew over the house. That looks a hell of a lot cooler!

I had one of those things land about 150yds from me during the last federal invasion of Richmond a few years ago.
Very intimidating...and loud as hell. Everything around you becomes fully involved/vibrating.

The Osprey is a weird airplane...thing....whatever it is.

They took an airplane and stuck a couple of variable pitch helicopters on the end of the wings and there ya go!

This rather looks like the design section for Haus of GaGa...

The 'armadillo' heels are strikingly similar to the 'lobster' heels found in this MV. Lotsa crazy shoes there:

Fashion is where you try to find peace outside your body when you should be looking inside.
That's about all I know about it.

To some extent, I agree with that. But quite frankly, most men pretty much require women to dress to some level of fashionable, as does business. I'm definitely a rebel in that regard. I dress however the eff I wanna dress. I've been told I'm kinda hipster without the fake glasses. I think I'm just a trendy nerd a couple years behind the times.

Yea, Crocs replaced Clogs. They are cheap and comfortable.

But we all make our choices, I refuse to wear Dr. Scholl's Velcro.

Why?
Fashion! We are the Bourgeois, and we're coming to Town. Beep Beep! :monkeydance:

In 1992, poor hippies would spend 90 dollars on a pair of Birkenstock sandals.
Because it was the fashion of their group.

You can still find traditional old hippies, but they are usually old ones. A true young, modern hippie isnt worrying about the traditional hippy image, they are more concerned with the footprint they leave behind and getting off the grid. The true hippies i see today look more like ranchers and farmers and really cant be called "hippies".

The same can be said for true punks. Hippies and Punks were a product of the time they flourished in, these days, theres enough turmoil and things to be angry and concerned about...legitimately...to warrant a new breed, and whatever label is attached to them.

Richmond is a very punk town, and was a hub for east coast punk for many years. We still have some real punk culture here, die-hards mostly. I know a few...but then again, I know two that are doctors in the local ER now. Think Dr. Johnny Rotten, Phd.

So I was thinking about what we would call an amalgam of badly dressed social fringe members with poor hygiene and frothy, angry attitudes.

Hippunks?

I had to look up what a croc was. Thought it was reptilian. I wear a pair of Gucci zip up half boots. Comfy, acceptable for work as they are dressy and are good casual wear as well with jeans. On the occasion that I wear sneakers they are Vans.
