Someone needs to explain this to me. See if I have it right.
There was/is a "reality" show about sad sack mothers trying to gain vicarious pleasure by psychologically abusing their daughters. I believe the exact MO is 'beauty pageants' for children. Out of this comes some trailer trash momma and her fat, stupid daughter. OK so far?
America seems fascinated by this living, modern day version of a Good Luck Dam Troll (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_doll) doll with a southern accent. So much so that she is given her own 'reality' show, and it's nearly impossible to avoid some cultural reference to this little damn troll (or is that Dam Troll?).
Now some big troll such as Rosie "Washed Up" O'Donnell wants to buy the obnoxious fat faced fuck and her hosebag momma a new house? :irked:

I just don't get it.During lunch, there's a group of ladies at work who watch soaps... specifical, the Dumb & the Horny, er, The Young & The Restless. Group that comes in right after them watches The View. The other day, I was ignoring them as I was having a late lunch, when HBB herself is featured on a segment... throwing a fit on some other talk show's couch.
That was all I needed to see.

I have a simple solution. I don't watch TV. As a matter of fact I don;t even own a TV. I have an internet connection but, no TV. Last time I looked at TV was around the time they transitioned from analog to dipshittal TV. And from what I have seen and heard of modern day TV I really have no interest in it whatsoever. I'd rather read a book or practice music, or get stoned, or whatever... Anything IMHO is better than the junk that they call "TV" these days.
The only "TV" that I watch these days are old TV shows, most of which can be found online for free. Maybe I am being "generationally intolerant" but I think the TV that was around when I was a kid/teen/young adult was far better than the crud and reality crap that dominates modern TV. And believe me, we had crud on TV in the old days too. But in general TV was better than the garbage around today.

Castle (Improbable but an interesting premise)
Mad Men (Have only seen one episode but it was a good one)
A lot like Big Bang Theory, I find it just ok.
Few comedies, fewer movies and almost none of those that are interesting.
I watch about 2 hours of TV a week. Less now that the Yankees are through for 2012.
Now radio is a different story.

I have FiOS here but I never had them add on the TV. So I just get Internet and Phone. FiOS have been extremely reliable round here.

Besides, most people who watch Gilligans Island these days do so to ponder the age old question, "Ginger or MaryAnne"..
On the other hand we had some good comedy. Shows like "The Honeymooners" are among the timeless classics of TV comedy and have yet to be matched IMHO.

I mainly like old TV cop shows. Shows like Highway Patrol, Dragnet, M-Squad, Johnny Stacatto, to name a few as well as some that came a bit later.. Also some adventure shows like Sea Hunt. Mission Impossible from the 1960's/early 70's was quite good. I am also a big fan of old TV westerns such as The Rifleman, Have Gun Will Travel, and others. I am a major fan of old Western movies. Sure there was a lot of stupid junk back then as well, but at least you could find some gems amidst the flotsam and jetsam. These days all I see is flotsam and jetsam and almost no gems. I feel TV was somewhat better but then again that could be a sign of my age.
Don't get me wrong, I am sure there are probably some good shows round today. Maybe one day i'll give em more of a chance.

If you are using the standard double edge safety blades I suggest the Wilkinson Sword brand. I use them and they are great and they last for many shaves. Always get a comfortable, smooth, shave with them.. Not long ago I tried a different brand They couldn't hold a candle to the Wilkinson's.
Do any of the stores over there carry them ? If not you may be able to find them online.
