Photo in the News: Cat Chases Bear Up Tree

I love this story. Made the news here and this is one ticked off tabby...


On June 4 a black bear wandered into a West Milford, New Jersey, back yard, was confronted by a 15-pound (7-kilogram) tabby cat … and fled up a neighbor's tree. Hissing at the base of the tree, Jack the clawless cat kept the bear at bay for about 15 minutes, then ran him up another tree after an attempted escape.

PHOEBE could do that!!! A bear wouldn't scare her at all. She deals with 2 Man-eating Pit Bulls all the time, so a bear would be EASY for her. She is a very MEAN CAT! But I love her still. She bites me as I pet her.

A grizzly could easily kill 2 pit bulls + a cat in one swoop.and without batting an eye. That said I was up in Alaska a few years ago in grizzly country and a friend of mine was attacked by a full size grizzly. The bear lunged at him and he wound up and punched the bear between the eyes and knocked him out cold.
