106 degrees Farenheit on the Islets of Langerhans today, with monsoonal moisture flowing up from Mexico rather than our usual arid desert conditions. Yikes.

Upper 70s today with medium humidity. A pleasant change after Isaac came through with 90s and high humidity.

A Jamaican co-worker munched hot peppers like candy. One day he offered one and I nipped gently expecting the worst... and got it. Rather amused at my agony he said "In Jamaica we have three kinds, table peppers, cooking peppers and peppers even the birds won't eat. That was a table pepper."

As for the weather, things have been comfortable around here for a change. Come October when I take the air conditioner out watch Murphy show up.

I'm sure there's some wood there, but it has nothing to do with paneling.

Its been 75-80 for the past two weeks. 20-45% humidity. Nice change from the solid 98-100 days we were getting with 80+% humidity.

What weenies. We had a guy from mexico who made tacos the mexican way. One day he got a bit crazy with the peppers and upgraded for habanero to something much stronger. Word was the emergency room was full for the entire weekend. I know reality was distorted for a week after I ate it, but didn't go to the hospital.

Besides, what hot? It's really nice here. 77° or so for the last couple of weeks. One night we were 39°. Had to turn on the heater. Can't wait to get snowed in.

At our installation we had 2 girls from Mexico who used a pepper that is about 200x hotter than a habanero and about 100x hotter than pure pepper spray. at least 3 people died and dozens had to be rushed to the ER and put on live support for several weeks.

I ate some very hot peppers once and they literally put me on a drug trip. For several days I was totally tripping. The landscape around me changed and I was in a primitive native American camp. later that evenine an elder tribesman took me to the mountains and there I witnessed the White Buffalo. The capsicum can literally trigger a hallucinatory response.

Once you get out of the NYC metro are people actually like snow and look forward to snowstorms. hating and loathing cold weather and snow is primarilly a NYC thing. My dad hates, loathes, and despises snow. But he is a native NYC'er for his entire life.

My ancestors had roots in Siberia and thus I have a genetic predisposition for liking very cold weather and snow. I am perfectly comfortable sitting in a tee shirt in a room that is 55 - 60 degree's (ideal indoor room temperature for me). Most people like 75-80 degree outdoor weather but not me. I consider it too hot. Give me 40 deg and lower.
