From the White House Blog:

Inspired by home brewers from across the country, last year President Obama bought a home brewing kit for the kitchen. After the few first drafts we landed on some great recipes that came from a local brew shop. We received some tips from a couple of home brewers who work in the White House who helped us amend it and make it our own. To be honest, we were surprised that the beer turned out so well since none of us had brewed beer before.

As far as we know the White House Honey Brown Ale is the first alcohol brewed or distilled on the White House grounds. George Washington brewed beer and distilled whiskey at Mount Vernon and Thomas Jefferson made wine but there's no evidence that any beer has been brewed in the White House. (Although we do know there was some drinking during prohibition…)

Since our first batch of White House Honey Brown Ale, we've added the Honey Porter and have gone even further to add a Honey Blonde this past summer. Like many home brewers who add secret ingredients to make their beer unique, all of our brews have honey that we tapped from the first ever bee-hive on the South Lawn (http://www.whitehouse.gov/photos-and-video/video/inside-white-house-bees). The honey gives the beer a rich aroma and a nice finish but it doesn't sweeten it.

Hey, he's a damned lib'rul. He should be drinking white wine with his brie.

This Lib'rul Loon doesn't drink much wine (and I'm part French too). I prefer either a good Beer (Ale, Lager, Malt) or a good hard mixed drink (Rum, Vodka, Whisky, Gin).

Heck, I recently had my first taste of Brooklyn Brewery's East India Pale Ale and it was great. Great beer on a hot day.

I wish it wasn't honey anything. Can't drink any honey brews or honey liquors. Shame really. There may have been one or two I liked in the past. I can however, eat honey straight from the source. One you brew it though, no dice.

That being said I'm sure it's a good brew for some people. Maybe the White House Brewery will become a tradition into the future.

You might change your mind if the honey brew recipe was not so sweet. I have tried, and once brewed a dry mead. Very good. A lot of the wheat beers are too damn sweet, but the drier ones are crisp and tasty. I don't drink any more, but I remember.

I should have mentioned that for me, it is an issue of how it sits once in the stomach. Honey brews tend to remove the lining of my stomach. Rum and Coke is another example of where I dare not tread. Diet Coke, works fine. Mexican Coke is OK if I only have one and drink it very slowly. Regular Coke (any cola or soft drink) with HFCS, mixed with alcohol, produces paint thinner.

"Even when I was 2 ears was not what I noticed on Annette."

AND HOW! That's when she became "too old" (Roy the DOM of the club was disappointed) and went to American International Pictures starting with Beach Party and then with Frankie Avalon drooling Muscle Beach Party, Bikini Beach, Pajama Party, How To Stuff A Wild Bikini, Beach Blanket Bingo and Ghost In The Invisible Bikini (they were visible, a big disappointment). It only goes to show you can catch more box office fish with Anette and they'll swallow it hook, line and sinker.

Speaking of bingo (heh heh) are you tired of the old Ginger or Maryanne question? Who would you rather play bingo under the blanket (1965) with, Anette or Donna, Playmate Of The Year 1964?
