Had my first scan after starting "chemo-lite" in June, and the results are perfect. The tumors have stayed shrunken. The mass in my esophagus is so small it's "barely visible", and the tumors in my liver are "pinpoints." That's such good news for me. The effects of the chemo I'm getting (5fu) are practically non-existant...and my energy's back. So....it's time to (ugh!) get my resume up on dice for a temp., contractor gig in LA. I'd LOVE to get to spend more extended time there. Asked my dr. about that and he can hook me up for treatment out there and he encouraged me to go for it. Hoping I can be out there by the fall. So....look out all you six-landers -- this is fair and advanced warning!

It'll take a miracle or a breakthrough for me to get there - they can control my kind of cancer very, very well, but they can't kill it. The good news is that the treatment is hardly a bother anymore, so long as it remains effective. And there's no indication yet that it won't.
