That would never happen with a Nikon lens.

I see a Nikon lens cup in the background of the last part.

So....if you're ever unfortunate enough to break a lens (shudder), there's a noble use for it.
I keep thinking beer goggles.

LOL. Nikon is actually a Japanese company. Even though the commercials and everyone in the US says "nighcon", the Japanese pronounce it "neecon".

Don't Take Mine, Take 54!
It was take 54
When she walked through the door
With the red light on it
I knew in a minute
If I wanted to get in it
Then I'd have to get on it...

I actually knew that. ;) I think the US is the only place that pronounces it wrong. Of course, the Japanese are used to bending their sales tactics to our unusual ways.
ETA: Back to the OP though... There was a guy on DPReview a year or two ago who purchased (online) a rather expensive $1800 pro lens. What he received was a coffee mug that looked exactly like the lens. As I recall, the seller was one of those Amazon affiliate outfits. Last I heard, he was still sorting that out.

Americans invent their own pronunciation and spelling for just about everything. Place names are the worst, if they can pronounce it why can't we? Funny how I spell "aluminium" and nobody seems to notice, or at least the spelling Nazis think I'm illiterate and let it go at that. (;->)
