Which is probably about the time I would have heard them. Anything after 1500z is a little late for here.

I'm sayin'.

Eventually I'll get off my ass and put the 706MKIIG, AH4 and 102" whip back where they were. For all the years I had them installed, I took the bus to campus more often :squint:

How does your AH-4 work for you. I bought one when I bought my 706MKIIG thinking I would put it all in the truck, but it is just sitting out in one of the trains out back. I ended up putting an FT-857d and the ATAS 120 tunable antenna, which works quite well. If I decide not to use the AH-4 at a later date, I may well sell it, but I'm curious how well you like it, and how well it worked..

I've used it everywhere from the 102" whip mobile, to an 80m quarter-wave radiator for Field Day, to an indoor loop fed with 300ohm twinlead. I'll tell you how it compares to a manual tuner when I get the QRO one later this month ;)

Yes it is. The reason I like the ATAS 120 so well is, it's easy to store inside the vehicle when it nested. It's nice to just push the tune button and not be real distracted while on the open road. Thanks for the info.

It's just a tough path from here, but...

9M4SLL 14:16z 08/12/2012 17m

Barely an S3 here. My noise level on 17m is S2. Definitely had to use the amp on this one.
