I was joking around... she took it seriously and started to argue with me. Even asked me if I'd want make a bet on it. (No, I didn't take it)

Someone must have had a word with her, because at lunch time, she came up to me and informed me (and the rest of the room) that my parents were unmarried at the time of my conception. And she didn't speak to me the rest of the day, either. (No great loss)

I understand the USA has the most gold medals and that's the way the US has always counted them. China has the largest quantity of medals and that's how most of the rest of the world counts them. Don't fret, you're doing fine, it's not over yet.

There have been some disturbing propaganda pictures on the internet showing Chinese children, possibly orphans, being semi-tortured whilst undergoing gymnastic training. Who knows if they are real or not.

It was East Germany where a drug regime for athletes was carried out for years and years to such an extent that some of the women had so many male hormones they were effectively men, only requiring surgery to complete the job.
