Another cool fact about Sally Ride i didnt know until today, she was a lesbian who was in a 30-year commited relationship. Not much newsworthy there except for the fact that nobody really knew about that...and she never really hid it. Its great that it never became a childish media circus sideshow for her, she was able to work, live, love and exit this world respected for what she did, not stared at for who she was in private. My hats off to her. :)
