Had a high-school buddy whose father had a '70 Monterey. Thing was a frame-off rebuild and the finished car was impeccable. Didn't hurt that the family owned an auto-parts business.

My first car was a 64 Le Sabre. Took my road test in a 71 Skylark. I'd love to have either of those cars back.

I get off on 57 Chevys;
I get off on screaming guitar.
Like the way it hits me every time it hits me.
Ive got a rock and roll, Ive got a rock and roll heart.

I cut my teeth on a 6SK7, learned to drive in a 57 Belair and drove my parents crazy with rock and roll radio. Yeah, they listened to WNEW the station that put the new in New York but new to them was stuck in the 40s. (;->) Now is that the Buick with the 401-cid Wildcat 445 under the hood? Hmmm...

Hmmm...No, In the video they said it was 300 cubic inches.

Wouldn't mind having my old 72 Skylark back with updated brakes and in a color other than doo doo brown.

At least it matched the rust.

I had it in 86-87 and there was no rust.

I had it in 86-87 and there was no rust.You were lucky. Things did get better in the 80's. Most GM cars and trucks from the early 70's were rust buckets.

While it would be a PITA for parts and such, I would enjoy this old American innovation as a "toy"...

My dad had a 73 Yellow Caddilac Sedan De'Ville What a rust bucket that was. . Worst things was the yellow colour. The rust spots really show up on a yellow background. Not to mention all the other problems. Eventually I became an expert at replacing alternators and starter motors on that car.
