Same here, little thunder and a little much needed rain. Bed is starting to look like a good option.

In the midst of everything else, my logging program crashed to the extent that I'm gonna have to get some help with it. I got disgusted and shut everything down. Bed is a good option!

I was already headed off to bed by then. Been having problems with terminal insomnia lately.

"Terminal" in this case does not mean "fatal," it means that you wake up before you've gotten enough sleep.

No shit. Me too. It sucks. I've been up since 3 Am watching Leave It to Beaver reruns on Netflix.

Edit: I like the old cars. Lumpy drives a 40 Ford convertible!

If anyone is up for it I'm in the mood to play 40 or 75M SSB tonight. Been an absolute butt-kicker of a day in the project department and a little on-the-air fun would be nice.

The real irony being that when I got in the game, I completely expected this year to be gangbusters in propagation and easy pickings if I could weed out the congestion.

Well, I'm packing it in for the night. If I get up early enough, I may try to squeeze in a few more contacts before this is all over @ 12:00z.

Score so far is 26,180 for a lazy effort. I can never plant myself in a chair for more than a couple of hours at a time.

I ended up with a little more than that, which would be #2 in the division if scores are similar to last year's. I was only a few contacts back from the guy who took first, but he crushed me in mults - not surprising with a crappy compromise antenna. Purely S&Ping didn't help either.

Oh well, lessons for next year...

That's all I ever do. I doubt I could hold a frequency for very long @ 100 watts, so I don't even try.

Then there's the attention span thing. I tend to get bored with it after a couple of hours, so I go do other things and come back to it.

Yesterday was a perfect example. Got up @ 7:15am. Made a cup of tea. Went down to the shack and got everything in place. Started on time, which is rare for me. Around 10:00am, went upstairs and took the dog out. Came back to the shack and operated some more. 12:15pm, went back upstairs, took a shower, went to lunch with the wife. Came home and did one or 2 things around the house. Went back to operating at 3:30pm, stopped at 4:30pm. Did something else around the house. 6:30pm, back to operating. Stopped at 8pm. Had dinner and watched a couple of things I had DVR'ed. Went back to operating at 11pm. Stopped around 12:30am.

A die-hard contester I will never be.

I should have worked some of the contest but just wasn't motivated to do so. Wife and kids are all off and about doing their own things this afternoon so I went out and dismantled and cleaned the Hustler 6-BTV, added some hardware and laid a new run of coax to it. Currently sitting in the shack with a cold beer and working some JT-65 on 20M.
