I wonder how long it takes to clean this thing up between rides?

They had the same contraption here last year when we had our week long "Sneek week" a sailing event, the largest in Europe, and a fair on the main place in the city, there was a lot to clean up.... every time they went with new "victims" ;)

WWWAAARRRFFF!!! Come to think of it, the back side looks like an LSI chip looking for a really big mobo.

I would have been sickly amused if at some point the contraction reared way back and pitched the platform + people over the trees and out of sight .:twisted:

Darien Lake has that ride. I've been on it with Dan and the kids. Even my 10 year old rode it. It's not that scary.

When I was 20, no problem. Now, not so much.

I was looking at the mechanical design. Pretty cool. Couldn't quite tell from the video, but it looked like the arms are hinged (though they almost look like they're made of rubber).

My days of riding stuff like that are over, but it was once fun.

I would have no problem riding it. As a matter of fact I'd be inclined to stand and change positions while I am up there. My main concern would be trusting the integrity of the device to a bunch of sleazy amusement park gangsters.

These days, rides like that don't allow you to stand and change positions. You're clamped into the seat pretty firmly.

Back in my day we wouldn't need a bar to hold us into the seat. Bunch of candy ass youngsters.

Back in my day, the stickiness of the seats was what held you in. That's where the the expression "candy-ass" came from.

I love to ride this one: 310' drop@80 deg angle. 93MPH. Open seats, you feel exposed.

I'll ride it only if they let me ride it standing.

They have or had a stand up coaster near here. I rode the sit down one where your legs hang down. Nice and smooth. Can't ride a wooden one unless I want to go to the hospital.
Oh yeah, they wanted me to ride the stand up one. I gave them a big Phoque EWE!

King's Island Has the longest wooden coaster "The Beast", and second largest "Son of Beast". The Son of Beast had a loop. It was a brutal ride. I was always sore for days. They tore it down after paying out $$$$$ injury claims.
