He's been interested in ham radio for years but after coming up to my club's Field Day site my boss decided to take his Technician-class exam today. He passed.
We got another one, bwah-ha-ha-ha!

Shades of the ARRL's Communicator Class license from 1990...... :yuck:
We have two - a TM321A in the shack and a TM331A/701A (220, 2/440) 'stack' for her car. I'm going to convert one of my FT-726R 432MHz modules to 222 or just buy a loaded 736...whatever is more challenging. ;)
Three 220 machines that I know of in the Akron/Cleveland area and all are active.
Also own VX6/VX7 HTs - we use 220 for FM simplex stuff when on motorcycles or bicycles, and a number of the local crew utilize the band when running around the larger hamfests.

Non-US voltages, frequencies, wavelengths and shirt sizes such a muddle . Come to think, among other significant and less so digits, my home phone number is now irretrievable from memory -- though I do recall, English AC connectors really meant business, quite impressive robustitation. French, well, not so memorable, like Italian, although some of the Italian breaker boxes were stylish as the dickens.

My boss just HATES Ham Radio, despite great attempts to interest him in it. He hates it because the back room is filled up with radios, radios and more radios. And it is all I do. He will see me come in on weekends and work nights on RADIOS but show very little interest in Company product. He sees me take a week and a half off to drive to Dayton. So he has decided HAM RADIO is EVIL and won't get near it. Wish We could get him interested. He might sponsor the WHOLE MUSEUM if he got excited about it. Now he just wants all these JUNK RADIOS outta here!
He could always eBay them...

IF I ever get fired (and I have come EVER SO CLOSE many times), I will hafta go rent a BMF UHAUL truck and drag them all up the hill to Crest. WHERE to put them in the house, which is already full??? GOnna hafta CRAM them in. Radios in the bathroom. Radios in the bedroom. Radios in the Shitter! Radios on the stove in my wifes kitchen. Radios up in the attic and then there are all the boxes of junk. HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of boxes of junk! We are talking a JUNK STORES worth!!
They will be CRAMMED into the ALREADY FULL GARAGE!!! No chance anything will be thrown away. But atleast they will all be in one place then.

Sounds like the house I used to live in a few clicks south. I had to do the shimmy shimmy koko bop just to get around, the only room without radios and/or radio junk was the bathroom. Thank goodness for shower steam, otherwise I'd have to climb over stuff just to take a dump.

Speaking of broke-ass, most of this stuff is either shit or project material. I have an old National rcvr with matching speaker...dirty, never tested. I used to just grab crap when people were throwing it out and never did anything with it. I also have a beat up old Ten Tec Century 21, 5-band, 50w CW only rig. An old Yaesu FT-something-or-other, needs a tech geek to get under the hood, i bought it many years ago from a "bad ham" who told me it worked, then disappeared. I do have an assortment of keys, im a lot more familiar with that stuff and could actually answer questions.
Im going to be getting rid of some guitar effects and music stuff once i inventory my studio and figure out what doesnt need to be there anymore. Again, once i get settled down, ill clean them up and take pics once im ready to make it official. Trust me, it wont be a big event by any means.

You know, had i known then what i know now about those "burritos", it would have dawned on me that those weird chewy pieces were indeed guts and arteries...among other unidentifiable shit that should never be mentioned in mixed company...i never would have handled one, much less consumed the amount of them that i did. I wonder what irreparable damage ive done to myself.
