I heard it through the grapevine. It appears Kodak will be transferring some 5-9 BILLION images to Shutterfly from their Kodak Gallery. Man, that's a bunch of pix. Looks like the Kodak death rattle is growing louder.

If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have gotten any exposure to photography. I shutter just thinking about it.

IMO, photo hosting services seem like what search engines were like in '99-'01. Did we really need Altavista, Hotbot, Netscape, Dogpile, Lycos & Yahoo?

It's like the Highlander...there can be only one (with maybe a few stragglers hanging on).

If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have gotten any exposure to photography. I shutter just thinking about it.Well, the whole Kodak situation is sad. My eyes film over very time I think of it. Their financial difficulties keep getting more & more exposure.

So we should focus on the company's past, and what good came of their work, not on their future, which appears to be pretty bleak and negative.

Just filtering through the slide this thread has taken, im just trying to capture the moment to transfer my thoughts. The world isnt all black and white, you know, sometimes you just have to tilt the gray scale.
